FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LOCAL PLAYWRIGHT WINS BEST ACTRESS AWARD FOR EODL - ONE ACT PLAY FESTIVAL IN HALIBURTON, ONTARIO

Sara Beck and Scott Arsenault are a force with which to be reckoned. Not only did Sarah author "Verona Revisited", she also received the best actress award out of the 9 competing plays this year. Sara and Scott are a team who are not new to the One Act Play Festival competition. Sara's "Lake Effects" from last year's competition had Scott winning best actor for his role. Now Sara has won the best actress award to complete the picture. They're funny, they're dramatic, they're original.

Domino Theatre hosted the One Act Play Festival in early July of this year. Local playwrights and directors are encouraged to enter their plays into the three-day competition. The winner of that festival goes on to compete at the Eastern Ontario Drama League Festival (EODL) held this year at The Highlands Little Theatre in Haliburton. Sara and Scott along with cast and crew hauled the mock up MGB along with all the set, costumes and props up to its temporary location this past weekend.

Receiving nominations at this year's Festival are:

  • Scott Arsenault for Best Actor
  • Claudia Wade for Best Director
  • Chris McKinnon and Claudia Wade for Set
  • Sara Beck for Outstanding New Work
  • The Crew for best Visual Production (Michael, David, Rick J. Bob)

Special thanks go to Pauline Jodoin for her role as stage manager.

Domino Theatre is proud to sponsor such quality performances from Kingston. Congratulations to all involved in the production of "Verona Revisited". Well done Sara!
