Staged Readings

Come support our local playwrights!
And Honour Tony Houghton

The Age Difference

by Tony Houghton
7:30 Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2019
The Davies Foundation Auditorium
52 Church St., Kingston, ON

Admission is free

As many of you know, sadly, Tony passed away suddenly this past summer. We set this reading date last May and with his wife, Dianne, we have decided to go forward with the reading. Please join us to hear his play, and to honour Tony and his contributions to Domino and the literary arts. His play The Worst Thing you Ever Did won the Best Original Play award at the Domino One Act Play Festival in 2018.

The Age Difference explores our expectations about “age”, and family interactions in a gentle and loving way. He shows us that life has its wins and losses and that strength lies in our relationships with each other.

Come see: Anne-Marie Bergman, Ben Hudson, Jennifer Verardi, and Terry Wade.

The next New Play Reading will be October 29th

Readings take place at the Davies Foundation Auditorium, 52 Church St. Admission is free, feedback is expected. Please come and support your local playwrights.

Attention all amateur playwrights and theatre enthusiasts.
If you’re an aspiring playwright or just enjoy hearing new plays, plan on attending one of Domino Theatre’s New Playwright Evenings where you will hear some of your favorite actors do a reading of a new play by a local writer. Afterwards, join us for light refreshments and some lively discussion.

Have a draft of a play you’d like to have read at the Domino? If so, contact Sandie Cond at 613-328-2789 or scond@sympatico.ca, and we’ll arrange a New Playwright’s Evening for you.

Check this site for dates and times of upcoming readings.
